shut-off valves mount within the pedestal on fuel
lines at island surface level. In the event the
pedestal is dislocated or overturned, the valve
is designed to break at the shear groove. When installed
properly, the top section shears off, causing the
valve to close, preventing gasoline spillage and
reducing the likelihood of a potentially hazardous
condition. |
